The times have changed in our society, which has alerted many organizations and facilities to be more cognizant concerning security in their surroundings. Newton's Bus Service has taken security very seriously and has implemented Operations Secure Transport. This program was developed by United States Homeland Security. All employees participate in the training program. Drivers are screened using the Quest Diagnostic System and E-Verify. Quest diagnostics programs provide thorough screening for criminal background, prior employment, driving records, and Global Terrorist Watch lists. The E-Verify program was developed by Department of Homeland Security. Its purpose is to check all new employees against social security numbers to determine validity. Random drug/alcohol screening is completed throughout the year for all drivers.

Each coach is euipped with Nextel 2 way and cellular phones. This enables dispatch to continously monitor all coaches.

All drivers must also participate in driver instruction prior to being placed behind the wheel. Driver instruction includes but not limited to:

• Behind The Wheel Instruction
• Appropriate Consumer Relations
• Vehicle Inspections
• Security Issues & Documentation

Throughout the year, Newton's Bus Service also provides driver safety meetings. These serve as refresher courses and provide updates on any new information. We at Newton's Bus Service are working diligently to ensure the best possible transportation experience you can have. We have maintained these high standards for over 55 years and will continue to strive to provide quality service for many years to come.
